Read the brief history of how a simple hashtag turned into an entire network of Rugby fans!
#rugbyunited traces its roots back to the RWC2011, and on 23rd December 2011, our Founders Trevor Large and Rich Church-Keen took to twitter using the hashtag #rugbyunited for the first time.
Now with #rugbyunited branded accounts covering the English Premiership & Championship, PRO14, TOP14, Super 15/18 and the top 50 ranked World Rugby countries, #rugbyunited is ran by over 250 volunteers across world, tweeting in over 25 different languages with a combined follower base of well over 500,000 followers across 161 different #rugbyunited accounts.
With regular blogs from a host of contributors covering topics far and wide, frequent competitions from top Rugby brands, supporting grassroots Rugby in your community, to fans meeting up at games and invites to glitzy press and awards ceremonies, we aim to cover Rugby in its entirety from top to bottom.
We believe #rugbyunited is the biggest Rugby social media community in the world, where fans come to interact whilst upholding the Rugby values we all love so much on the pitch!
